2 days ago, Miley Cyrus packed up her Twitter page and left us all hanging. A month ago, Kid Cudi did the same thing. It leaves us here at Global Grind asking, ‘Why are celebrities leaving Twitter’?!
According to Sandra Rose, and others, Miley Cyrus quit Twitter because her boyfriend doesn’t approve of her having one, and he asked her to delete it. If you were to search for her on Twitter, you would come up with the ‘this page doesnt exist!’ on your screen, but thanks to Celebrity Tweet, I was able to find her timeline and screenshot her last tweet:
Kid Cudi made the first move about a month ago. At least he warned his fans and loyal Twitter followers that he was going to delete his Twitter before he did it. Unfortunately, I cant find what he said last. I DID however, find a video of him explaining why he decided to disappear from Twitter:
I understand these guys’ pain. Nowadays, the media takes the tweets that come from celebrities’ fingertips and uses them as if the celebrity has issued a personal statement. There’s no privacy on Twitter as it is, nowadays, so Im all for them deleteing if they want that privacy.
