People in Los Angeles were given a rude awaken when an earthquake rippled across Southern California just before dawn. Authorities were quick to respond but there are no reports of damage, injuries or power outages linked to the quake at first. California Highway Patrol received reports of a buckled 10-foot stretch of concrete in a center an hour after the quake.

Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda reports that ‘All is calm in the city of Los Angeles.’

The 4.4 eathquake, centered about 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, struck shortly after 4 a.m.

Though the quake was small in size, it was felt all over Southern California.
