<p>WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) –?Eighteen-year-old Calvin Woodland was gunned down late Wednesday night in the parking lot of?the Anacostia apartment complex in the 800 block of Barnaby Street, Southeast.? The victim’s brother, who is named Calvin Woodland, Jr., tells 9NEWS NOW the young man "was shot seven times." Woodland, Jr., is Councilman Jim Graham’s Chief of Staff. Calvin Woodland, Jr., says his brother, who went to Anacostia High School,?was a "good boy and was getting ready to start work this week," and he does not know of any reason the victim may have been targeted. Police say they believe at least two men were involved and that robbery may have been the motive. Some reports indicate a masked man was seen removing items from the victim as he lay bleeding and fatally shot.? At this point, no suspects are in custody. A $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. The victim’s father is the late Calvin Woodland, Sr., an Anacostia civic leader who spent three decades working on behalf of troubled youth. "He was a legend in this neighborhood" said a resident who asked that his name not be used. Calvin Woodland, Sr., a former boxer who died of a heart attack in 2000, established youth sports leagues and after school programs in Anacostia. He worked hard to curb violence and drug dealing in the neighborhood with a mixture of tough love. In fact, the 2500 block of Henderson Street, Southeast, was renamed Calvin Woodland, Sr. Place?by the DC in 2008 to honor Woodland Sr.’s efforts. A foundation carrying his name has continued to work on behalf of Anacostia youngsters. Over a hundred friends and neighbors?of the victim, nicknamed "Little Pouda" by his late father, held an emotional and tearful?vigil?at the murder scene.
