SEX, DRUGS, ROCK AND ROLL + VIDEO GAMES = M’LARKY! Need I say more ladies? No, but I will. The year was 2002, it was the all or nothing days, the hungry for a career daze- the youth was confused and disillusioned as ever, and in the wake of the chaos there were two very reefer smoking, UCB going, video game playing lunatics who began hanging out after class and filming themselves making each other laugh.

My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) would sneer, ‘why are you constantly hanging out with that Miami Vice loving freak?!’ well anyone who dressed up on Halloween as Don Johnson knows the answer to that question, baby: good ganja.

And josh had plenty of it. And moxie too. Josh Warren (detective Jon M’larky) and I have often been confused as being related. We are not. We are brothers in funniness however. and we would hang out with a couple other dudes that could be our brothers as well, including Law Tarrello (detective Lou mannetti) and we formed our little improv troupe: ‘the could-be brothers’- one of our first productions was the original version of M’larky, an hour long pilot that was so cheesy and delicious that here we are a short 8 years later with the new and improved version of M’LARKY showing now on atom.com and on comedy central’s atomtv this august.

The show idea came from a 5 second improv: josh was lurking around like a semi-retarded drunk dirty Harry and I yelled in a pissed off al pachino style chief of police voice, ‘M’LARKY get the hell in my office now!!’  and because we were all too baked to do the actually action sequences and car chase scenes ourselves we just shoddily spliced in video game footage from awesome games like stuntman and M’LARKY was born!

We’d all just sit around and watch it and laugh and laugh- now 8 years later with a little more experience and a semi- budget and an actual editor I am proud to say M’LARKY has a reno911/the beastie boys sabotage video meets south park kinda feel. Sprinkle in guest star joke masters like Jeff Ross and Gilbert Gottfried and we got a huge potential for TV success!

See honey we weren’t just sitting around slacking off and watching re-runs of Miami vice all those afternoons that you wanted me to help clean the apartment- we were really making something of ourselves…I mean if I had to choose between let’s say watching the oil spill disaster coverage or M’LARKY…I’d choose m’larky 9 times out of 10.

M’larky is freakin’ hysterical folks with tons of action- don’t miss episodes 1-5 playing now on atom.com! And in the immortal words of LT.Black ‘ooh I see a lady with a frozen hotdog in her mouth- don’t just bite into it baby! Relish it!!’ enjoy! Peace, over and out!
