I’ve received a message from someone on Myspace saying that he likes my blog because it’s kind of romantic. I wouldn’t consider myself as very romantic but I do like it when it naturally happens like it did in my last blog. I’ve asked myself what exactly is romantic? By book it would be something like bringing a rose on a date, making out in front of a fire place, light candles all over the place and play Marvin Gaye while eating a self cooked dinner at home together. I don’t know how you see this but in my world people and myself are too stressed out to think about these things… Time has changed!

Let me share the most romantic things that happened to me the past years:

Roman – after a huge fight – We decided to talk about it so I went over to his place. My clothes were perfectly folded. Not the way i would fold it – just too perfect. When I asked him what made him do this he admitted that he has thrown ALL my clothes out of the window, left them two days out in the rain and after all decided to take them back in and wash them to make sure I don’t notice. Didn’t know what to think about it but it definitely made me smile. Stupid boy….

Anthony would take my hands and sing out loud. So loud that I’d blush and feel uncomfortable. He just kept on singing untill I changed my mind and started singing with him. He was such a natural person. He was the one hammering into my mind that i do not need to wear any make-up to be beautiful. He changed my life and I am very thankful to have had him in my life. That was a very important thing to have.

Jay… He was endless romantic. He’d make me laugh every day. He still lived at his parents at the time and his tiny room was always a big mess. It wasn’t too bad but one night we slept tight on that tight bed and I had my hands in the corner spread out. All of a sudden I feel something heavy on my hands! I woke up, looked up and saw this rat ON MY HANDS! I freaked out and the rat got scared so it ran somewhere. I said there was a rat! He said I am crazy and that I must have dreamt (I swear it’s true!). He looked for it for about an hour and called me crazy for about a week but had rat traps and snacks all over the place…

Daniel drove all the way from France to see me for only eighth hours. I remember standing at my windows starring out waaaaiting for him to arrive and when he did he smiled at me saying ”because it’s worth every minute. Count every minute of the eight hours and you’ll realise it’s not so bad”. He turned out to be a moron but at least he tried.

This all meant so much to me and when I think about it it makes me smile. To me something is romantic when I can’s stop smiling and my heart starts jumping. It can be something ridiculous, something stupid and silly. I don’t think it should be written in any book. One of the most romantic movies to me is ”Something’s gotta give” by Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson or Tarantino’s ‘True Romance’ when Patricia & Christian sit on the roof.

It’s always the situation you don’t want to be in that is the most romantic because you simply DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY.
