Foo Fighters are back with their seventh studio album and the veteran group has clearly returned to their rocking roots. They’ve just released a new single, ‘Rope’ and the record ‘Wasting Light’ (out April 12), was recorded with Nirvana producer Butch Vig in lead singer Dave Grohl‘s garage of all places.

‘We soundproofed the garage door so that my neighbors wouldn’t call the fucking cops,’ Grohl has said of the recording process. ‘There’s 11 songs and front to back, there’s not one sleepy ballad.’

‘Rope’ boasts some old school, lead guitar riffs that ping pong back and forth, along with a quintessential anthemic Foo Fighter chorus. You can download ‘Rope’ on iTunes beginning March 1st, but for now, listen below and let us know what you think in the comment section below.
