After his debut of ‘Runaway’ at the VMAs, Kanye West announced earlier today that he has BIG plans for its video. Different than the typical five minute videos, he is planning on working on a forty-minute film. Shot in Prague a couple of weeks ago, Kanye West plans on basing this visual on his upcoming album. He tells NY Mag that the concept of the film would be about ‘a phoenix fallen to Earth and I make her my girlfriend, and people discriminate against her and eventually she has to burn herself alive and go back to her world.’ Pretty heavy stuff. Kanye West is very intrigued by this symbolism of the phoenix because he feels like it is more so a reflection on his career and how he is trying to change and become a better person. We don’t exactly know if or when this will actually happen, but we are excited to see his video/film. In the meantime check out these pictures.
