Has Ciara gotten her groove back? In preparation for the release of her fourth album Basic Instict, which will hit stores August 17, Ci has been on her grind. The ‘Goodies’ singer just dropped her new single ‘Gimme That,’ a uptempo club banger that harkens back to her earlier hits like ‘1,2 Step’ and ‘Get Up.’ On top of that, Ci also hopped on two of the hottest rap records out of Altanta right now, Soulja Boy‘s ‘Pretty Boy Swag’ and Waka Flocka Flame‘s ‘Hard in the Paint.’ Ciara has always repped Atlanta to the fullest, but with her last album Fantasy Ride she took a decidbely more pop direction both in terms of image and music. That switch didn’t pay off (Fantasy Ride has only sold around 200,000 copies to date), so for Basic Instinct Ciara is taking it back to her roots, the A, with help from The-Dream and Tricky Stewart. Ciara definitely sounds like she’s back in her element, and we’re excited to hear else what Basic Instinct has to offer.
