In tribute to last night’s finale of America’s Best Dance Crew, we need to pay homage to the art of the dance video.

The face of music has changed dramatically over the past 30 years. When MTV was created in 1983, it was a network that broadcasted music ONLY-24/7. Hard to believe, but that’s how it was. The music video revolutionized the face of music. It became an important outlet where artists could showcase their talents, which included dancing, as well as their famous friends and fabulous lifestyle.

12. Usher-My Way

He’s known for his dancing, and this video is why. He was dancing in his videos way before this, but this was THAT one that showcased his skills. It’s no wonder he was looked at to take the dancing thrown after MJ’s passing.

11. *NSYNC-Bye Bye Bye

THE boy band of the 90’s. Either you loved them or you hated them and I personally LOVED them. Fans couldn’t wait for their next video to come. The Backstreet Boys had a lead on them for awhile, but after this video they took the title, ran with it and never looked back.

10. Paula Abdul-Straight Up

A dancer first-she was discovered by and did choreography for the Jacksons. Yes-THE JACKSONS. She was cute as a button during her pop star days although she didn’t have that many hits, but she’ll forever be remembered for this late 80’s/early 90’s era black and white video that went along with a song which seems to get stuck in your head everytime you listen to it.

Not your typical dance video, but this one became known as ‘the treadmill video.’ The concept keeps us interested because we can’t imagine what they will do next. You know this video made a statement when Common took notice and shouted them out in Drivin’ Me Wi
