Job Ad Scams On Craigs List

During my search for a job online I have come across many scams. One of the top scams is I will send my resume to a job add on Craig’s List and I will get a reply like this one below:

Dear Applicant,

Congratulations, this is a tentative offer of employment for the available position with Ingles Distribution. This is a full-time position.  Your duties will include making sure that your daily quota of orders are pulled electronically, bar-coded and delegated to the packing dept for bundling and shipping. Some experience working in distribution setting is preferred, however, full paid training will be provided if needed.

As you know, this position pays a generous hourly wage, with benefits, and also provides potential to earn a quarterly and annual raise.  We feel that you would be a great addition to our team, and are fully prepared to make you employment offer, provided that you comply with the rest of the recruitment terms.

To accept these terms and move on to the final stage of the recruitment process, you must provide us with a current background check to go in your employment file. Once you fill out the report, an email is automatically generated that notifies us of your acceptance. Human Resources, in turn will email you new hire paperwork (usually within 2 business days), and give you times for orientation. Be sure to bring 2 forms of identification with you to the orientation, as well as safety glasses if you have them.

Your free background check can be obtained here:  Click Here For a BackGround Check

This tentative offer will expire in 72 hours from the time sent. If you choose not to accept it, or have any questions, please email me directly.

We appreciate your interest in joining our team, and hope you decide to come aboard!

Once you click the link it will take you to some credit report site. And please note that no reputable company is going to have you conduct you own background check it does not make since. When I wrote back to the email stating the link was not correct. Of course I did not get a rely back. This is not the only scam reply I have gotten. Here is another one I have gotten below:

Hey , it is great to speak with you.

I appreciate you e-mailing us. In case my posting was not clear, the responsibilities of this position are as follows: you will be answering our main phone and taking messages when necessary, you will be scheduling our company meetings, and errand running for us for things such as purchasing supplies and making our bank deposits (you will be provided with a company car). While you are running errands, you will also be given one of our company credit card(s) for all business purchases.

You are very qualified for our job position, and more so than the other 20 applicants we have received applications from. I would like to find an available time to take the next step with you. However, before I can schedule a formal meeting, my company will require that you acquire a recent(from the past 14-21 business days) credit report. We, at RYD Corporation, have made this a standard because our company unfortunately had a few bad experiences with former employees taking advantage of having access to a company credit card.

Both the company and I will prefer it if you use http://17-freecreditscore.com to acquire this information as they are giving the report at no cost to you(unli
