It seems Kanye West and MTV have had a rocky relationship from the start. Kanye has always felt like MTV was trying to hide their love for one another; keeping everything under wraps. Sure, all of MTV’s close friends (the viewers) knew about their love for Kanye but when it came time to show off Kanye to the professional friends at the annual MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) there was no love.  Year after year, Kanye West has felt unappreciated and deserving of recognition. And year after year, MTV stiffed Kanye by not recognizing him via the pop culture honor of the VMAs. So Kanye made his didain for MTV’s spite known to any and everyone who cared to listen. The more blatant lack of respect for Kanye West began in 2007. Kanye had just released Graduation, an album that was very huge for music that year. Something that was also huge for music that year though was Britney Spears return and MTV decided that she should open up the VMAs that year which were held at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas, NV.  Kanye ended up performing ‘Stronger‘ in a suite rather than on the main stage. He was upset about that; feeling that he deserved the main stage since his record was currently the number one record in the country. In addition, Kanye was nominated for five awards and won none. He caused a bit of a stir backstage over his loss and was quoted as saying ‘That’s two years in a row… give the black man a chance.’ But in al
