I remember being able to turn on the radio and actually enjoy what I was listening to.  In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I would actually record the songs to cassette tape.  I would then take those cassette tapes in a dual cassette deck and blend the songs together. That was my introduction to djing, but it started with the true love for the music.  The music still had a formula as it does today, but it was much more honest, real and soulful.

I understand that this is the music business and it’s all about what’s selling.  So I challenge the consumer to want more and not settle.  Let’s face it, real music with soul is currently under the radar.  You have to dig deep to find it. In order to change this, us music lovers have to continue to do our part and make some noise.  If you discover a new artist or a new song, do some research and support their efforts; buy an album, go and see them live at their next show.  Let’s get back to music that evokes emotion in people; timeless music.

I created the ‘Soul 2 Go’ Podcast Mix as an avenue to promote, expose and help add variety to what the everyday listener of music perceives is the norm.  There’s so much more great music out there other than what’s shown on television or played on radio.  This is my effort to help open more minds musically.

I commend all artists, songwriters, producers and musicians who continue to make it their mission to carry the torch, and create honest, real music from the soul.  Not worried about what’s selling, but just going into the studio and creating.  Thank you.  It is you that make my passion for djing even more enjoyable everyday.
