Summer in New York is both amazing and terrible.

The sun is finally out, the beaches are open and you can utilize those sick days you’ve been saving up all year long. Unfortunately, the population in New York also seems to double from May to August, the crowds at the beach are like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, and forget getting anywhere via subway on time.

We rounded up the 14 worst things about summer in New York in gifs.

Check it out!

It’s hot, but running an AC all day in your apartment can be expensive, so you have to cool off any way you can.

Riding the subway is never much fun, but in the summer it feels like this…

Subway heat is not only hot, it’s aggravating.

Summer means tourist season and tourist season means getting off at 34th Street, 42nd Street, West 4th Street, Canal Street or Brooklyn Bridge is a nightmare.

Everyday you get showered and dressed to the nines – only to get outside and want to do this.

The weather says it’s going to be 78 degrees outside. Perfect day for the beach!

Then you arrive and have to fight for a spot…

Every drink of water makes you want to do this.

Then you see someone outside working out in 100 degree heat and you want to shoot them.

…Or walk up to them and be like, you’re making everyone else sweat! Sit down!

It’s much too hot to eat anything that isn’t barbecued…

…or frozen.

You always make big plans for summer and accomplish none of them.

And before you know it, summer is gone.

93 days just isn’t enough…

Fear not. The sun will come out again. Hang in there.
