Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston, who plays a high school chemistry teacher turned meth lord, recently opened up about his own very real violent past.

Cranston became a household name after the unimaginable success of the AMC series – a far cry from his previous role as Hal, the loveable but nutty father on Malcolm In The Middle. Bryan is featured in the latest edition of GQ, in which he discusses the upcoming final season of Breaking Bad and reveals details about his troubled past.

“I had one girlfriend I wanted to kill,” he told the magazine.

The aforementioned ex was a drug addict that Cranston dated after a brief first marriage; she made a habit of leaving death threats on the actor’s answering machine.

It wasn’t until she showed up at Bryan’s Upper West Side apartment, pounding on his door, that Cranston contemplated killing her.

“And I envisioned myself killing her. It was so clear,” he explained. “My apartment had a brick wall on one side, and I envisioned opening the door, grabbing her by the hair, dragging her inside, and shoving her head into that brick wall until brain matter was dripping down the sides of it. Then I shuddered and realized how clearly I saw that happening. And I called the police because I was so afraid. I was temporarily insane-capable of doing tremendous damage to her and to myself.”

The final season of Breaking Bad airs August 11 on AMC. Be sure to catch up before then and check out this trailer of what to expect this season!
