As of 8:00 am this morning, almost 120 flights have been canceled at LaGuardia Airport in New York. This is a major improvement if you considered the amount of cancellations that occurred yesterday: more than 350.

Not only that, but delays are averaging at about 90 minutes for incoming and outgoing flights.

Yesterday, at around 5:40 pm, a Southwest aircraft coming in from Nashville had an incident due to its landing gear.

Thomas Bosco, acting director of aviation stated that the “aircraft skidded down the runway on its nose and then veered off and came to rest in the grass area” following the collapse of its landing gear.

Luckily, only a few of the passengers suffered minor injuries.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the delays yesterday were said to be due to the “disabled aircraft.” However, the FAA has changed the cause of the delays to poor visibility.

More updates to come.
