Beyonce may love Topshop, but Rihanna wants no part of what they’re shelving, especially if it has her face on it.

Back in May, Rihanna proved how much of a bad gal she really is when she lawyered up and went to court with clothing giant Topshop, slapping the UK brand with a $5 million lawsuit.

The reason? The store was previously selling a tank top with a picture of RiRi from her “We Found Love” music video without her permission.

According to reports from her legal team, Rihanna spent 8 months trying to negotiate an image-rights fee, “but they offered her $5,000 and said they don’t care.”

We bet they’re caring a bit now, as Rihanna took them straight to the bank after she won the $5 million lawsuit.

[The judge] said Topshop’s sale of a Rihanna T-shirt had been an act of “passing off,” and that a “substantial number” of customers were likely to have bought the T-shirt of a “false belief” that it had been authorized by the singer.

The judge added that was damaging to her “goodwill” and represented a loss of control of her reputation in the “fashion sphere.”

Boom.

Although Rihanna reportedly sued Topshop for $5 million, the judge has not specified damages yet.
