Kelly Rowland is all smiles as she poses for the September issue of Essence Magazine. With her fourth album, Talk A Good Game, on shelves, hit single “Dirty Laundry,” and a new romantic lover, the 32-year-old stunner has a lot to smile about.

Draped in a black fuzzy vest and blinged out jewels, Ms. Rowland sets some things straight in the revealing Essence interview. Immediately after the release of her new single, the masses speculated that “Dirty Laundry” was in reference to former bandmate and friend, Beyonce.

The singer explains:

For a long time I wasn’t happy, but that had nothing to do with Beyoncé. That had to do with me trying to get my life in order and make better decisions for myself.

No shade to King Bey, but Kelly is working on herself.

I’m seeing all these wonderful things happen for her and I am happy for her. But I want a path. I want things to pop off for me, too. Not on her level but whatever my level is supposed to be.

Kelly has a lot on her plate as a judge on the hit show X- Factor, while also working on that hot body of hers. With Jeanette Jenkins and former boxer, Martin Snow, as her trainers, Kelly isn’t playing any games.

I see the beauty in boxing. It teaches me strength, physically but mostly mentally. I had to learn my strength, because for so long I could have been tougher than I was.

Ms. Rowland is on the right path – and no one can stop her.

I didn’t want anybody to judge me. But now I don’t care. Judge me if you want to. And as a matter of fact, it won’t even count, ‘cause the only person who can judge is God.

OK Kelly, go on with your bad self! Check out the September issue of Essence on stands August 9th, where Kelly goes into further detail about her new romantic relationship, her relationship with her estranged father and her future endeavors.
