The White House has responded to the violence in Egypt.

Things aren’t looking good in Egypt.

Egyptian security forces launched a raid early Wednesday morning to clear sit-ins of supporters calling for the reinstatement of ousted President Mohamed Morsi. Troops opened fire on the demonstrators and the result was so severe, the government imposed a state of emergency for the remainder of the month.

With the death toll at a whooping 149, the clashes are spreading to nearby cities and the violence doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon.

Here are the heartbreaking scenes coming from Egypt. Please be aware, the following images are graphic.
