Thanks to its rise in popularity, “twerking” has landed in the Oxford Dictionary Online. While appearing on HLN’s Morning Express, Morgan Freeman stood in as news anchor and reported on Oxford’s decision.
The seasoned actor read aloud the definition of the word to viewers.
“To dance to popular music in a sexually-provocative manner. Involving thrusting hip movements and a low squatting stance,” he read.
“Twerking” wasn’t the only uh – interesting word added to Oxford’s Dictionary. Freeman later reported that the words “selfie” and “girl crush” also joined the distinguished dictionary.
Morgan managed to get through the broadcast without so much as cracking a smile – can you?
