Amanda Bynes is finally getting the help she needs, but great health care doesn’t come cheap!
The troubled starlet has been hospitalized since an incident in which she started a fire in a stranger’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, California. The retired actress is being treated for schizophrenia, though she has yet to be officially diagnosed.
The 72-hour mandatory stay in a psychiatric facility was extended by a judge to two weeks, while her parents filed for temporary conservatorship of their daughter. After gaining control of both their daughter and her assets, Lynn and Rick Bynes pled with a judge to further extend her hospital stay.
Amanda’s health care providers, parents and a judge all agreed it is in her best interest to remain hospitalized until doctors are able to effectively treat what they believe to be a mental disorder. The 27-year-old will be held at UCLA medical center for at least 60 days, but could be there for up to a full year. And according to TMZ, it’ll cost her!
Amanda is being charged $3,500 a day for her care. Sixty days at UCLA Medical Center will cost a total of $210,000. A full year? A mere $1,277,500.
Chump change!
