The Deborah Brown Community School in Tulsa, OK just realized the error of their ways – or they just changed their strict hairstyle rule to appease the masses.

But either way, the school that sent a 7-year-old Tiana Parker home because she was wearing dreadlocks in her hair is now allowing afros…and yes…dreadlocks to be worn on their grounds.

After a two-hour school board meeting, officials changed their policy to reflect what we all knew to be true: natural hairstyles, like afros and dreadlocks, are not “faddish” and distractive.

*If we want to be technical, a relaxed and unnatural coif is more faddish than the natural state of black hair.

But it’s too late. As we stated before, the beautiful Tiana is now at a different school and her parents would still like an apology from her former educators.

We think she deserves one too.
