A bomb scare at LAX late last night slowed airport operations and caused quite a scare. A small explosion erupted from an airport bathroom. It is believed that a dry ice bomb, created using dry is and a small bottle, is responsible for the explosion.
NBC Los Angeles broke the story via Twitter late Sunday Night. The News outlet tweeted reports of a “small explosion” at the airport. They later reported LAPD’s bomb squad had responded to a “possible dry ice bomb”:
More details came in the form of tweets from fellow LA News outlet ABC 7. Gadi Schwartz, as well as the outlet itself, revealed shocking details about the location of the explosion and type of device responsible.
Within a few minutes ABC 7 reported that airport operations had returned to normal and the FBI had begun an investigation.
