This year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards was certainly about the lyrical cyphers and our beloved culture of hip-hop, but it was also about something even more important to our communities.

Gun violence.

Snoop and the non-profit grassroots organization, the League of Young Voters, brought their “No Guns Allowed” anti-gun violence campaign straight to where it mattered the most: the hip-hop stars whose voices matter to the young people.

The League hit the star-studded “green carpet” at the awards to talk to some of our favorite rappers about an issue that continues to plague our nation.

Watch above as Nelly, Snoop, Rich Homie Quan, Angela Yee and Lil Scrappy weigh in on gun violence and how to prevent it.

And feel free to share your story about how you have been impacted by gun violence on the League’s Tumblr page at: NoGunsAllowedMovement.Tumblr.com or text “PEACE” to 69866!
