Drake is all about “YOLO,” but M.I.A. doesn’t agree with that one bit, dropping her hard-hitting new single, “Y.A.L.A.”
The song title stands for “You Always Live Again,” and seems to be influenced by her religious background in Hinduism.
“YOLO, I don’t even know anymore, what that even mean though,” says M.I.A. “If you only live once, why we keep doing the same shit? Back home, where I come from, we keep being born again and again and again. That’s why they invented karma.”
Matangi is due out November 5th. Last month, she released the album’s tracklist using several different t-shirts.
