A video of Republican Senator Ted Cruz’s father calling for President Obama to go back to Africa has surfaced and needless to say, Cruz’s team isn’t happy.

During a speaking event in Fort Worth, Texas during his son’s 2012 Senate campaign, Rafael Cruz bashes the Obama administration before launching into a full-out birther conspiracy rant (which you can watch above).

“The path of this administration is to make us a third world country and to make us second to the United Nations,” the 74-year-old Cruz is heard saying to the crowd.

He goes to espouse concerns about the United Nation’s sustainable development implementation plan called Agenda 21, and the organization’s Law of the Sea Treaty- both of which are lightning rods for conservatives who fear the overreach of outside organizations on national sovereignty.

“They are pushing very hard for the United Nations to have taxing authority and Obama is very much one of the big promoters of this,” he says.

“We need to send Barack Obama back to Chicago. I’d like to send him back to Kenya, back to Indonesia.”

But he wasn’t finished.

“We absolutely need to retake the Senate.”

Ted Cruz’s staff jumped into action on Thursday when the video was made public. A spokesman responded, saying that the 74-year-old did not speak for his son.

“These selective quotes, taken out of context, mischaracterize the substance of Pastor Cruz’s message. Like many Americans, he feels America is on the wrong track,” the spokesman said according to the Fox News affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Interesting. Cruz and his family may want to stay away from the birther conspiracies, however. It’s been rumored that the Republican Senator may be a possible candidate for the 2016 presidential race.

And if he is, he’ll have to deal with his own birthplace issues. Cruz was born in Canada. Which means he might want to talk to his Cuban immigrant father about calling the kettle black.

If not, they’ll find out soon enough that American “birthers” are discriminatory and relentless. And that’s beef that they definitely don’t want.
