Congrats are in order for Dante de Blasio and his awesome ‘fro!

The 15-year-old was named one of TIME’s most influential teens of 2013, coming in at No. 6.

According to The Huffington Post, the son of mayor elect (D) Bill de Blasio beat out other popular teens like Justin Bieber, Malala Yousafzai, and President Obama’s daughter Malia Obama for one of the top spots on the list.

Dante gained popularity during his father’s campaign when he was featured prominently in commercials and on stage. Even President Obama was in awe of the teen and his big ‘fro at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Convention in September.

According to the New York Times, Obama gave the family a shout out during the dinner.

“His son, Dante, who has the same hairdo as I had in 1978,” Mr. Obama said. “Although I have to confess my Afro was never that good. It was a little imbalanced.”

Looks like dad isn’t the only one winning these days.
