Forest Whitaker is heading back to theaters with the re-release of The Butler, but it’s his next role that’s gaining a lot of buzz. In February of 2014, Code Black Films will release Repentance – and judging from the trailer, this one is going to be off the chain.
Repentance stars Sanaa Lathan, Mike Epps, Nicole Ari Parker and Hurt Locker’s Anthony Mackie as Thomas Carter, a man who has reinvented himself as a spiritual advisor who advocates a synthesis of world religion after a drunken car crash almost took his life. When Carter secures Angel Sanchez (played by Whitaker) as a client, things quickly take a turn for the worse.
Also hitting theaters a little afterwards is the Marlon Wayans flick Haunted House 2 and if it’s anything like the first Haunted House, this is going to be funny as hell. The trailer features Cedric The Entertainer and it looks like Marlon switched it up and got a new girlfriend this time around. Check it out!
Also hitting the small screen in January is Season 3 of GIRLS. Lena Dunham and the gang are back and obviously, a lot of hilarity will ensue.
