Jay Z might be the King of New York, but he hasn’t let the power get to his head.

After stopping in New York during the Magna Carter World Tour, Jay Z decided to take a little break and kick it in the very city that raised him. While out and about in the trendy Meatpacking District, Jay was approached by a homeless man who recognized him.

Jay and his fan shook hands and shared a laugh while the passersby looked on and captured the epic moment.

Mr. Carter must really be feelin’ the love for his fans lately. Earlier this week, Jay brought one lucky fan on stage with him in Chicago after seeing her sign in the crowd.

“When I was 16 I rapped on this stage with you. I’m 19 now and I’m ready,” it read.

While the 19-year-old had hoped Jay would sign her to his record label after their performance together, at least she’s got a dope story to share and video to back it up.
