A 5-year-old girl was fatally shot and her mother wounded on Sunday and now Cleveland police may have a possible location for the suspected gunman.
According to authorities the shooting took place at about 11PM on the west side of the city when a man pulled up to the vehicle the mom was in, got out of his own car, and opened fire. The gunman then fled the scene.
The little girl was killed and her mom, 33, was in “fair condition” today at MetroHealth Medical Center.
The vehicle has been traced to an address and that address led them to another, where SWAT team negotiators and police are now. Though no arrests have been made, we certainly hope police investigators get to the bottom of this extremely unfortunate case.
Authorities have not determined a motive for the shooting. Brooks’ cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
