On Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos weren’t the only teams sparring.

In a pre-Super Bowl XLVIII interview, President Obama and Fox News staple Bill O’Reilly went at it first, intensely debating Benghazi, the IRS scandal and the bumpy roll-out of the health care marketplace.

But it was Obama’s read of the conservative news station that caught the attention of the nation. When O’Reilly told Obama that many people believed his campaign team sought to downplay the cause of insurgent attacks in Benghazi, which killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, he nicely told his interviewer that the network he works for spreads lies.

“Your detractors believe that you did not tell the world [Benghazi] was a terror attack because your campaign didn’t want that out,” O’Reilly said. “That’s what they believe.”

“And they believe it because folks like you tell them that,” Obama said. “These kinds of things keep on surfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them.”

True or false? We’re going to go with the first choice.
