The Daily Grind Video

If you’re trying to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day date for that special lady in your life, then you know it can be a lot of pressure. Hell, if you’re on this post now, then you’re probably in need of some help. Luckily for you, planning the perfect date can be accomplished by following a few simple rules.

I recently started to hate articles trying to tell me how to love my girl, who I should not have sex with, who I should be having sex with, and the blogs that try to convince you that being single on Valentine’s Day is the best thing in the world.

With that said, I decided to write one of those articles without actually writing one of those articles. Really, there’s no such thing as the “perfect V-day” date, but there are some guidelines and it can’t hurt to think and pre-plan a little if you’re worried. So read on….

#1. Rule number one, KNOW and LISTEN to the person you’re taking out on a date. If you don’t know her well, you can read 100 Valentine’s Day idea articles and still end up taking her out on the date from hell. For example, if you know your girl is not adventurous, then Valentine’s Day is not an excuse to try something new. You don’t want her wondering what the hell is going on.

Listen to her and believe her. We all talk about the things we like, want, desire and don’t like, now it’s your turn to take her at her word. She’s constantly telling you exactly what she’s expecting. So all you have to do is shut up, listen, and do as she tells you. Valentine’s Day is your opportunity to show her that you’ve been listening to her all year long. And if you look like this guy below, she probably doesn’t want to go dancing…

#2. Do research. If you care about her enough to take her out on Valentine’s Day, an hour of research trying to find out what your options are will be well worth the time spent. Before you decide where you’re going or what you’re doing to do, hit Google – searches like, “Best Restaurants In…” always work. Also, there are lists of concerts, parties, movies, bar specials and more. Whatever you want to do, you can get a good idea of how it’s going to be by using THE GOOGLE MACHINE. Also Yelp, Time Out, Zagat, Creative Loafing, or you can ask your friends, or her friends. Once you’ve done that – make reservations.

Another important rule is the flower delivery system. You almost never want to give her flowers while actually on the date. Flowers should be delivered before the date starts. Most girls don’t want to be on a date lugging around 12 roses, but then again, see rule number 1.

#4. Let her win. It’s simple; February 14th is her day, so let her win. Put up a small fight if you must, but again… Let. Her. Win. This applies to everything, anything and nothing.

# 5. Not everyone is going to want to go out to dinner. Some guys are going to be brave enough to try to cook for their love, but here’s the thing: If you can’t cook, don’t do the most. Novices in the kitchen shouldn’t try to make Beef Wellington and a Baked Alaska for dessert. Keep it simple, stupid. Try this, or this one here. Add some rose petals to the table, a whole lot of candles and some sexy lingerie and you’re already at perfection.

#6. Whatever you do, it should be ‘gram worthy. Yeah I know what you’re thinking, what does Instagram have to do with it? Well, just wait and see who’s uploading pictures of flowers and candy and who is uploading pictures of Haagen-Daz and Netflix screenshots.

If you follow these rules, you’ll be well on your way to having the perfect Valentine’s Day Date for the Special HER in your life.
