Meet the Pamella Roland girl, she’s a smart businesswoman who runs this town with sophisticated style, and she certainly loves her sequins.

On day six of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the New York sunset set the scene inside the salon at Lincoln Center. This is her city, and we were just living in it for the evening. Designer of the namesake line, Pamella Roland, is truly a businesswoman before anything else: she received her degree in business management and had a career in marketing and public relations before trying her hand at designing.

For her Fall/Winter 2014 collection, she gave us her interpretation of the sexy city slicker, a girl who hails taxis with her head held high (just like the heels on her feet). We saw looks for her every occasion: a busy day in the office, a night out in the hippest Manhattan hotspot, a glamorous evening gala.

Trends spotted: Shine and sheen. Through the use of sequins, leather and metallic tassels and fabrics, the models glistened and gleamed down the runway, their hair in elegant loose curls. Mosaic will also be major for fall–Pamella presented tiled pieces on a sheer top and a few of the gowns.

Faces in the front row: Zendaya Coleman (Singer/Actress), Nigel Barker (Photographer), Lydia Hearst (Actress/Model), Julie Henderson (Model)

My rating: The execution in the styling is what really brings this collection to life. Every look was well thought out and strategic, but what else could you expect from someone as savvy as Pamella Roland?

My favorite look: One of the more understated pieces in the collection, the knee-length navy dress with sheer paneling because it shows just enough skin without being too sexy.
