Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you the Kid Oscars.
Cineflex gathered some of the cutest kids in America to reenact Oscar-nominated films, and it is amazing. The children take on Captain Phillips, Her, American Hustle, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Gravity, Nebraska and the only few minutes of 12 Years A Slave appropriate to shoot with children.
It’s pretty much the best three minutes and 57 seconds on the Internets.
Speaking of the Oscars, Leonardo DiCaprio sat down to discuss the real Oscars and poked a little bit of fun at himself and his many Oscar snubs.
Don’t worry, Leo. This is your year.
During the Academy Awards’ annual luncheon, the actor joked about his misfortune, even providing proof:
“Here, I’ll show you the card they gave me today,” he said rummaging through his pockets.
DiCaprio pulled out a little white card, which he called “that little football chalk-up” listing his film statistics. Leo pointed to the sentence that read, “five nominations, zero wins.”
But he laughed it all off.
“It’s quite interesting. People think I feel I’m overdue for something,” he said. “anyone wants to be accepted by their peers, but the truth is every year is unique and everyone is just going to vote for who they think is worthy.”
“You make these movies, you work as hard as you possibly can, you put your life on hold and you hope for the best,” he said.
Not to worry. Despite his seemingly never-ending losing streak, Leo’s not giving up hope.
“I’ve had the same mentality ever since I got my first movie,” he said. “I got my foot in this door and I am going to continue to jam it in there.”
We’re crossing our fingers for the man.
