So this happened…
Fox News host Heather Childers announced the winners of the NCAA Championship on Tuesday in her usual excitable manner, but when it came time to accredit the University of Connecticut Huskies, she made one big mistake.
“Well, the UConn Huskies are the 2014 NAACP national champs,” Childers said.
Freudian slip, perhaps?
We’re sure it was an honest mistake — the National Associated for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are almost identical acronyms, but they couldn’t be any different in meaning.
Still, the little gaffe was a good chuckle, even if it was a little embarrassing for Childers, who admitted that she “misspoke.”
