Circus performers live to keep smiles on our faces, so it’s just heartbreaking that a few have been hurt in in a really serious incident today.
A “Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus” stunt went wrong when a high wire snapped in front of a packed Rhode Island audience, sending several performers to the hospital.
TMZ reports:
The performers were about to begin an aerial stunt in front of a packed house … when the wire snapped, and several people fell about 30 feet.
Several people were transported to the hospital and according to reports, as many as 6 people are in critical condition.
Moments after the crash, emergency responders raced to help the injured — and the lights were dimmed to keep the children in the audience from seeing the terrifying scene.
That absolutely sounds like a nightmare. We’re keeping the performers in our prayers.
