Dear Mama.
In honor of Mother’s Day, Eminem released the video for his introspective track “Headlights,” featuring fun.’s Nate Ruess.
The Spike Lee-directed music video is shot from the perspective of Eminem’s mother, Debbie Mathers, and features actual childhood pictures of Eminem growing up on 8 Mile.
Spike Lee spoke about the music video, stating:
“It’s a great, great story. It’s heartfelt, some pain in it, but that’s life. So that’s why we’re here, back in the ‘hood, 8 Mile Detroit, shooting where all this took place.”
You can find “Headlights” on Eminem’s Marshall Mathers 2 LP. Watch Eminem’s thoughtful tribute video above.
