In an interview with CBS’ Face The Nation, Chief of Staff Denis R. McDonough says that President Obama is “madder than hell” about forged reports by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The reports are made up of waiting lists that have proven to be longer than what they appear to be. Many veterans have been refused treatment from doctors and are placed on the list instead. Obama has reportedly sent additional staff to the department to dig deeper into the issue. [NY Times]

A Phoenix, Arizona man accidentally shot himself in the leg while waiting in line at a local Walmart. A witness said she heard the gun go off and looked over at the man, who was holding his belly. Police say that man didn’t have life threatening injuries and no other customers were harmed. [Gawker]

So this happened. Terrified that her family would find out she wouldn’t be graduating, Danielle Shae called in a bomb threat to Quinnipiac University to cancel the ceremony. Shae was arrested and charged with first degree threatening and reporting an incident. She is currently being held on a $20,000 bond.  [Daily Mail]

A Pennsylvania tattoo artist was arrested after he tatted a smiley face and a derogatory word on a 12-year-old girl. Randall Charlton III was charged with felony assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of a minor, simple assault and tattooing a minor. [Daily Mail]

An autistic teen who took the city bus home instead of his normal school bus was found safe and sound three days after his disappearance. Eliceo Cortez, 14, was last seen leaving his school in Coney Island, NY and hopping on a B49 bus on Friday. His family says that Eliceo is high functioning, but has never ridden public transportation before. [NBC New York
