Last night, Future unleashed the unreleased single featuring Nicki Minaj, “Rock Star.” The song was not featured on his most recent album Honest, apparently due to sample clearance issues (the melody on the hook resembles that of George Michael’s classic “Careless Whisper”).
Less than 24 hours later, French Montana comes through with a remix featuring his own new verse.
Veiled by a thin layer of Auto-Tune, French raps about his come-up before he lived the rock star lifestyle: “Started slingin’ dope, Momma looked at me crazy/ Until I paid the rent, then she called me her baby.”
