The Summer of 2014 has proven to be one hell of a season.

We predicted a while back how the humidity and rain was going to make it one of the hottest summers ever, but we had no idea that people were going to go coconuts in the process. The amount of children perishing in cars are at an all time high, people are stuffing drugs in places where the sun doesn’t shine, and sadly, we watched a man lose his life at the hands of the police.

This leaves us to not only speculate if the whole country is slowly morphing into Florida, but to revisit some of the wildest crimes committed in the past three months.

What’s one story that caught your attention? Let us know in the comments and as always, do the right thing, kids.

One fan didn’t know he would lose his fingertip at Beyonce and Jay Z’s “On The Run” tour. After stepping to Roberto Alcaraz-Garnica, who was allegedly groping his girlfriend at the tour’s Cali stop over the weekend, the two men got into a brawl, leading Alcaraz-Garnica to bite the man’s fingertip off. The suspect pleaded not guilty to the crime Wednesday. After being charged for one felony count each of battery with serious bodily injury and mayhem, the 25-year-old could face up to 8 years in prison if convicted. [LA Times]

Justin Ross was jailed for leaving his 22-month-old baby in a hot car. Ross claimed it was an accident, stating that he forgot to drop Cooper Harris off at daycare. Further investigation revealed that the married father was sexting six women, including a 16-year-old girl. Little Cooper passed away, and Ross is still in police custody.

Ross’ case wasn’t the only one that caught our attention. There have been over 17 instances this summer of children being left in hot cars. Some have escaped death with the help of brave pedestrians and others have made PSAs about the harrowing cases. [Washington Post]

A batch of Nigerian snails were basically arrested at LAX when they were discovered by customs. Sixty seven snails were heading to a person in Saint Dimas, CA and were labeled for human consumption. The person the snails were destined for is not expected to face any penalties and authorities are investigating why someone would want so many snails. [AOL]

Jeremy Meeks’ gun charge wasn’t a wild arrest per se, but the reaction to his mugshot photo sure was. Meeks became a viral sensation after Stockton, CA Police posted his mugshot on their Facebook page in June. The photo was everywhere, along with #FreeJeremyMeeks campaigns and people who wanted to represent the “hot felon” in court. Meeks has said multiple times that he wants to turn his life around and be a better influence on his wife and child.  [USA Today]

Shia LaBeouf hit his peak when it comes to crazy antics. The former Transformers star was arrested after disrupting a Broadway show. The actor was formally charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment. After getting kicked out of the NYC theater for lighting a cigarette and causing a scene during Cabaret, Shia proceeded to bother a homeless man on the street. To make matters worse, he had this to say to police:

As a police officer escorted the actor out of the theater, LeBeouf allegedly said, ” “F— you. This is f—ing bull—. Do you know my life? Do you know who the f— I am? Do you know who I am,” the complaint said. At the police precinct, the actor spat in the direction of the officer and cursed at him, according to prosecutors.

It’s safe to say we know who he is now. [CNN]

Eric Garner’s arrest shocked the country after bystander Ramsey Orta recorded a police officer performing an illegal chokehold move on Garner in Staten Island. Garner, who was allegedly selling single cigarettes on the street, can be heard saying “I can’t breathe” in the video. A coroner’s report deemed Garner’s death a homicide and the officer who performed the chokehold was placed on desk duty. The case has taken major twists, as Orta claims the police have been harassing him for recording the video and states that the police set up a gun charge against him.

Pat Lynch, the president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (PBA), was recently part of a bizarre press conference that tried to explain that Garner sealed his fate when he didn’t comply with the police. They are also challenging the medical report’s results.

Time will only tell how this case turns out.

The sweltering heat didn’t stop criminals from hiding their drugs in their stomach flabs and well… other strange hiding spots. Tyrone Booker (left) hid $500 of drug money in his rectum during an arrest in Jacksonville, Florida. Police were able to spot the culprit shoving the money in his unique coin purse while in the back of the police car. A Central Florida man was also arrested on drug charges while hiding 23 grams of marijuana in his stomach fat.

Do you see the common denominator here? (Coughs, Florida..)

The Isla Vista, CA shootings helped bring in a summer that many will never forget.

Elliott Rodger’s reasoning behind the shooting that left 6 people dead, 13 injured has been debated after he posted a video titled “Retribution” to YouTube and a 140-page manifesto about facing rejection and neglect from women. Rodger’s manifesto read as his own autobiography, shedding light on his shockingly misogynist views towards women. Immediately following his rampage, Rodger shot himself.

Well, Drew Barrymore would be proud, right?

Charity Anne Johnson was sentenced to 85 days in jail for posing as a 15-year-old teenager at a Texas high school. Johnson enrolled into a Christian school and told facilitators that her parents had died. Soon thereafter, the program’s director began to speculate that the alleged teen was older than she let on.

Johnson paid a fine in addition to her jail-time.

Catfishing is the worst, but in this case it helped save a woman’s life.

Marissa Williams was arrested after her aunt discovered that she wanted to kill her and her family. In an effort to spy on her niece, the aunt created a fake Facebook page with the name “Tre ‘Topdog’ Ellis,” where she talked to Marissa about life, love, and her plans to kill her aunt, uncle, and dog.

When Marissa confided her plans, the aunt immediately called the police and had her niece arrested. The 19-year-old says that she did come up with the idea, but didn’t plan to act it out. [Complex]

Megan Elizabeth Everett’s sweet smile belies the crime the mother has been accused of.

The Florida native disappeared with her 2-year-old daughter to prevent her from receiving a measles vaccination, but also so she wouldn’t learn about Black History in school. Everett left a note with the child’s father and told him that she didn’t want her daughter to be brainwashed.

“You are a great dad. If I let them take her and vaccinate her and brainwash her, I wouldn’t be doing what’s right. I cannot let a judge tell me how my daughter should be raised. We will miss you. But I had to leave,” the note read.

Her family says ever since the mom began dating her racist and gun-toting boyfriend, her views began to change. Police are still looking for Everett and her daughter.
