Pretty much any song that Usher puts his vocals on these days is a hit. R&B music is as turnt up as hip-hop, as evidenced in Usher’s new single “I Don’t Mind.” Leave it to ‘Ursherr’ to make a stripper-themed song sound super sexy, only to have a raunchy Juicy J 16-bar feature balance the mood out with the right bit of ratchet-ness. This Dr. Luke produced record is a guaranteed hit.

Rick Ross is still the boss, even though his reign on radio this past year has somewhat slumped with new talent getting airplay. Nonetheless, Rozay will always be consistent with something that rings off in the club and on the radio. His new song “Keep Doin’ That” features O.G. R. Kelly. Yes, that R. Kelly. Still lending his R&B vocal talents to the biggest names in hip-hop, Kellz doesn’t disappoint.

Versatility in music, especially in hip-hop, is essential. Such is the case when I heard OVO’s ILOVEMAKENNON‘S mash-up with Mike WiLL Made-It called “Wishing You Well.” Together, the duo is calling themselves MikeWiLLMAKENNON, for whatever reason. “Wishing You Well,” though, has genius and potential. It’s one of the college frathouse records that could live in obscurity mainstream-wise, but be a hit with that certain audience.

Migos is no stranger to riot music. They keep the dirty in the ‘durrtty’ ATL the days. Peep their new ish “Fake Watch Busta.” It’s a comicalm yet lyrically ingenious, diss record dedicated to those of you who stunt in the club with fake diamonds in your watch. Trust me, there’s one in every crowd. The Migos are that ish…

With all the influx of major label talent coming from the West Coast these days, it’s almost easy to forget about dope MC’s like Fashawn and Dom Kennedy. Luckily, they turned up together this week on a new track, “Golden State of Mind.” This won’t get crazy rotation on the radio nationwide, but this is just another example why the West Coast is hot right now.
