Social media seems to really hurt relationships these days, but that was more than the case for one man, his girlfriend, and his best friend.
According to Gawker, an England man killed his BFF after he found out that he “poked” his girlfriend on Facebook.
While confronting him, Scott Humphrey punched his friend Richard Rovetto repeatedly, causing his head to hit the pavement hard enough to kill him just hours later in a hospital.
It appears to have been an accident, which led to the judge telling him during his sentencing:
“You didn’t intend to kill him. Part of the tragedy is that it’s left to chance what happens. There will be a fight like this somewhere tonight and the person will get up and go home and the police will never hear about it.”
Humphrey has been sentenced to 4 years and 4 months for charges of manslaughter.
