Earlier today, #BlackTwitter was up in arms when it was discovered that the super popular fashion site Nasty Gal is selling a “vegan leather durag.”
This isn’t the first time white people have attempted to introduce the black hair item to mainstream America as a “new” or “trendy” hair accessory. Just this past Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, luxury designer Chanel dressed all of their models in multi-colored “urban tie caps,” aka durags.
Obviously, #BlackTwitter was annoyed, but we think it’s a little comedic. So we decided to round up 11 other black hair accessories, products, and styles that we’re sure white people will “discover” sooner or later.
