The two teenaged sweethearts, who were on the run after engaging in a crime spree across the country, have been captured and taken into custody as of this morning.
According to reports, 18-year-old Dalton Hayes, and 13-year-old Cheyenne Phillips originally set out from their central Kentucky hometown, and ended up in Georgia after damaging property, stealing cars with firearms, and more.
The duo, reminding the world of “Bonnie & Clyde,” were captured by the police at around 12:10 AM Sunday morning in Panama City Beach. They were sleeping in their stolen vehicle before being arrested without incident, and are set to be extradited back to Kentucky, where they will face felony charges.
Hayes and Phillips have been on the road, away from Kentucky, and committing crimes for the past two weeks, with Hayes’ mother urging him to “surrender and face the consequences.”
