A 5-year-old Detroit boy is recovering in the hospital after he was shot in the face Tuesday as he played video games at home.
Police are investigating if the shooting was random. Shell casings for up to five rounds were found outside the home.
“Right now we’re trying to determine if the house was a target or it was random, there’s a lot we just don’t know,” said Assistant Chief James White.
The bullet that injured the child went through the window, police said.
The child has not been identified, but it is known that he’s in critical condition at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. He may lose an eye, officials said.
An investigation continues.
