So this happened.

During a segment on Cleveland’s Fox 8 discussing Sunday night’s Oscars, anchor Kristi Capel made heads turn when she used the term “jigaboo” to describe Lady Gaga’s music.

Quick history lesson: Jigaboo is bad. Really bad. Like “it’s 2015 and a term used in the late 19th and early 20th century to belittle black people and has no business on our lips” bad. You can watch that bad clip in the Vine above.

Just in case you missed it, here’s what Capel said:

“You can really hear her voice with all the jigaboo music that she — whatever you wanna call it.”

Capel, who’s bizarre description of Gaga’s music was somehow an attempt to praise her vocally impressive Julie Andrews tribute, took to Twitter to apologize for the use of the word.

And now we can assume she’s both totally mortified and tired of copy and pasting the same apology to everyone who reached out to her via Twitter.

Ah. Damage control.
