Vincent Richardson, widely known in Chicago for impersonating a cop as a teenager, was sentenced to 18 months in jail for repeating the offense as an adult.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Richardson, 21, was arrested in May 2015 after he and Dantrell Moore were stopped by police while wearing replicas of law enforcement clothing and bulletproof vests. Richardson reportedly confessed the uniform was from a security job and he used it as a disguise while attempting to unlock squad cars and steal belongings.
Richardson plead guilty to false impersonation of a police officer in front of a judge on Tuesday (March 29). This was the second time he faced jail for pretending to be a member of the Department.

Three years ago, Richardson posed as an Englewood District police officer and asked to purchase a nylon duffel bag, cargo pants, a blue duty shirt and a duty belt at VCG Uniform in the 5000 block of West Irving Park Road.The salesman at the specialty store recognized Richardson from the news and called real law enforcement officials.
Richardson allegedly told the arresting officers in that incident: “I know what it’s like to be one of you. I respect you because I did it for a day, chasing and helping people. My intentions are never to hurt people, just to help.”
Richardson received 18 months in prison after pleading guilty in the 2013 incident, according court records.
After his first cop arrest, he duped a car dealership on the South Side into believing he was a businessman. He drove off with a Lexus while going on a test drive.
