You can always count on JB Smoove to bring his undeniable energy to any room that he’s in, and that’s definitely the case with the latest episode of Complex’s Sneaker Shopping series. The Curb Your Enthusiasm star met up with Joe La Puma at Flight Club in Los Angeles, California to talk about his history of wearing fly sneakers, being a basketball fanatic, and details his own stories with a couple of NBA legends.
The conversation begins with JB talking about growing up in “money-earnin'” Mount Vernon, and how that shaped what sneakers he’s always worn throughout his life. He also talks about being “New York for life” when it comes to his shoe game as well, loving the Patrick Ewings and paying tribute to Penny Hardaway.
Mr. Smoove talks about his Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Larry David‘s sneaker game…or lack thereof. He cracks a lot of jokes about the famously un-fashionable comedian and says that Larry is too rich to dress in the sneakers that he does–but nonetheless, he supports the fact that the man likes what he likes.
He walks out of the store with 4 new pairs of sneakers.
