Gremlins hit theaters in 1984 and is always one of those holiday films that people tend to forget is actually about the holidays. In the movie, A gadget salesman is looking for a special gift for his son and finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the `Mogwai’ but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. Obviously, they did not heed the warnings and the gremlins end up running amuck. It’s a holiday movie that has so little to do with the holidays that you actually forget about it being a Christmas movie until you get to the carolers scene.
