Police have arrested, 52-YEAR-OLD floyd Palmer, the suspect in the fatal shooting of a man Wednesday morning at World Changers Church International in College Park, Atlanta, GA.

As reported by the AJC:

Floyd Palmer, 52, was reportedly arrested at Lenox Mall in Buckhead Wednesday afternoon. He was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Greg McDowell, 39, at the megachurch founded by televangelist Creflo Dollar. Dollar was not at the church at the time of the shooting, according to police.

Fulton County officials confirmed that the victim was 39-year-old Greg McDowell, a church volunteer.

52-year-old Floyd Palmer (pictured above) is the suspect police are searching for in connection with the World Changers Church shooting earlier this morning. 

Palmer was a former member and volunteer staff at the church, from which he resigned earlier this year. At least 25 people were in the church at the time. 
Police said Palmer is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

A witness said that the victim was shot six times while he was on stage. 

As reported by the AJC:

Karen Webb, who had taken her mother to the church for Bible study, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she was told the victim was shot six times.

“I brought my mother up here to go to church — every Wednesday she attends Bible study. As soon as we get here I’m told someone has been shot,” Webb said. “He was one of the praise leaders.” Webb said she was told the shooter was a 20-year member of the church.

Nearby schools were on lockdown after the shooting occured, but the notice has been lifted.

An employee at Creflo Dollar’s World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia has been shot and killed as he lead a prayer service.

As reported by 11News:

Details are still emerging, but investigators know that a person entered the chapel on the church’s campus and started shooting.

Fulton County Fire officials confirmed that one person was killed. The victim was a volunteer staff at the church, he was 39 years old the person’s name has not yet been released.

Investigators say the victim was on stage and leading a prayer when he was shot at point-blank range.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, wearing a suit and tie. He fled the scene after the shooting. Police are looking for a black Subaru in connection with the shooting. Police are still searching for the shooter. 

The shooting happened in the Chapel of the church. They evacuated all the kids from the daycare area. World Changers has over 30,000 members.
