Oakland Police say the suspect involved in the shooting at Oikos University is in custody. According to Officer Johnna Watson, who did not give any other details about the arrest, said-

“I can confirm that we do have one person who has been detained that we believe is possibly responsible for this shooting,”

Seven people have died and three were wounded fllowing a shooting at an East Oakland religious school on the 7800 block of Edgewater Drive in Oakland, CA. The shooting happened inside a classroom by a student at an East Oakland private university.

Police have captured the gunman described as a Korean man in his 40s.

According to SFGate, the shooting happened at Oikos University at 7850 Edgewater Road about 10:40 a.m.

There are reports of several people hurt inside the school, and police are reportedly searching for a suspect still on the scene. 

At least five ambulances have been requested, according to the Oakland Fire Department.

According to its website, Oikos offers classes pertaining to religious studies, music and vocational nursing, with an emphasis for students of Korean descent.
